The MAFB is truly grateful for all of you!
Food distribution days can be a little overwhelming if we don't have enough volunteers. We organize a "production line", to load boxes with canned goods; potatoes, meat, canned goods, (whatever we have) so that the work goes quickly and wait time is reduced. About 8 volunteers is ideal.
To volunteer send us an email at: mafbvolunteers@gmail.com

If needed, we will happily provide proof of your donation for tax purposes. Remember, we are a 501(c)3 non-profit organization and your donations are tax deductable.
Food safety is our primary concern.Your Food Bank is required to follow the health codes set forth by the Washington State Department of Health. We cannot accept ANY open packages of food.
Mattawa Area Food Bank can use any nonperishable food, especially shelf-stable food with the lowest saturated fats and refined carbohydrates (sugar, white flour). Please understand that our building is not continually staffed and that we will need to make arrangements to be there to accept your donations.
We buy white rice, beans, oats, pasta products in bulk, so we encourage you to donate other items.
Here are some suggestions (ranked by importance):
Canned fish or meat
General food items: Beef stew, chili and similar meals
Canned fruit, especially with low sugar (but not artificial sweeteners) , Peanut butter (plastic jars are preferred)
Canned vegetables (low sodium)
Brown rice, Whole grain pastas
Tomato products and canned sauces
Shelf-stable milk Infant and baby foods
Would you like to help out in some way? Perfect.
We are always in need of non-perishable food, cash, your time and experience.
Thank you!
A good portion of the food we distribute is purchased. That takes $$$.
Other items require purchase or maintainance...like shelves, forklift, freezers, boxes etc. Cash/checks/credit card online donations help very much with that! Clicking below on our DONATE Button is easiest, fastest way to make it happen. Contributing this way is safe and secure! Visa/Mastercard/Amex and PayPal are gratfully accepted.
